About Michelle Skolnick

Michelle Skolnick is a professional who has been working in the Special Event Planning, Marketing and Public Relations field for over 30 years in the Kingston area. She co-owned and operated a special event planning company called In Any Event Kingston Inc. that presented expertise to small, medium and large businesses in Canada and private high end functions. She has also held management positions in the private, public and government sectors.  

Notable Career Achievements:

  • Nominated for National Philanthropy Day Awards 2015 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals South Eastern Ontario Chapter for Award for Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser. Nominated by the Community Foundation for Kingston and Area.
  • Designed, developed and Co-Chaired events for the Kingston Community Foundation: The Across the Causeway Concert grossed $350,000.00, The Under the Big Top netted $270,000 and Jail House Rock netted over $300,000.00. In 2015 the Kingston Community Foundation awarded Michelle with a Community Fund in her name for her continued commitment to the organization.
  • Chaired the 2010 Ontario Hockey League ~ All-Star Game
  • Chaired the 2009 IIHF World Junior Hockey Training Camps simultaneously for Team Russia and Team USA.
  • Designed, developed and managed A Shagedellic Affair for the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation, the event was nominated for the Best Produced Event for a Charitable Organization in Canada at the 2000 Canadian Special Events Awards (one of only three companies nominated).
  • Implemented and Managed the Downtown Kingston BIA Canada Day Celebrations, which received the 1994 Ontario Downtowns Special Events Award.
  • Coordinated the development and execution of the Downtown Kingston Heritage Awards, the program received the 1993 Ontario Downtowns BIA Beautification Award.
  • Assisted in the design, development and execution of Kingston Chilifest, this event received the 1992 Ontario Downtowns BIA Special Event Award.


Education & Credentials:

Michelle has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Queen’s University, in Kingston Ontario.
She also has a three-year diploma in Marketing with a specialty in Fashion from St. Lawrence College, Kingston, ON.


In addition, Michelle has completed four sections of the Canadian Institute for Organizational Management ~ University of Western Ontario.

Michelle has planned Celebrations of Life for many members of the Kingston, Ontario community. Michelle believes when you combine your passions, education and professional experiences with empathy, compassion, creativity, expertise and dedication with the talents of others (who share your vision) the collaboration is amazing.
